Buyers Assistant - retail

Working exclusively with my market leading client, I am looking to recruit a Buyers Assistant for the Duty-Free category. The role will be to support the buying team in all commercial aspects of the business which includes management of the supply chain through working directly with vendors and internal stakeholders, generating and distributing business reports, maintaining the product database. A Buyers Assistant is a key role within the team, as you are often the first point of contact for vendors, shop managers and key members of the wider business; so, playing a crucial role helping to support the team in achieving sales and profit targets.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who ideally has experience of working products / suppliers of either alcohol, tobacco or confectionary. You will be a talented and dynamic individual, who is highly numerate and has strong commercial acumen. The ideal candidate needs to be a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong interpersonal skills, as well as having a passion for product.

*Support the Buyer, in liaising with a selection of vendors within the allocated categories
*Develop and produce business reports and ad hoc sales / stock / ranging reports as designated by the Buyer
*Maintain vendor prices and assortments on file and update database accordingly
*Secure all necessary product data, pricing and technical information from the vendors and process the production of purchase orders and set up of new product lines on the system
*Support the Buyer with the maintenance of the category range across all stores
*Ensure the running of promotional calendars are being implemented in a correct and timely manner
*Liaise and communicate with the Merchandising team activations and promotions to ensure forecasting of stock to support uplift in sales
*Inputting of promotional data into to produce rebate reports across all regions, ensuring reports are correct and invoiced on time
*Communicate daily with all stores ensuring promotions, display and guidelines are followed

*Good understanding of alcohol / tobacco / confectionery
*Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills with a high standard of PC skills that include; Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
*Highly numerate and strong attention to detail
*Excellent commercial acumen
*A team player who relishes the opportunity of working within an entrepreneurial environment and delivering results against challenging targets
